There are no paradoxes, only broken models which you are applying to the world.
I don’t know when this phenomena started, but I’m sure it will continue with human thinking drawing conclusions from incomplete ideas. As I move through the world, and am told things by NGOs, nutritional non-profits and the government myself I find myself repeatedly going “hmmmm, that doesn’t make sense because of X”.

To recap:
When you move away from Obesity as the issue and see it as a result/lagging indicator, you can start to see where people are and what they struggle with before they develop Obesity. The best identifier I have for this is currently these "red pill" questions I have been using for people: When you look around and try and ask questions in the space, almost every answer seems sensible but with the slightest amount of digging you see it is nonsense.
What is more concerning is seeing medical professionals with a very limited view of the world try and prescribe protocols or even medications to solve an obesity issue, when it is very clear, none of us really understand it. Having spoken to 100s of patients and read 100s of books in the space, using range, here the beginning of my theories and work on obesity. Every year, around March my exercise regimen gets a serious boost of structure and focus as I start to plan out my run for The Triple Bypass, a Colorado based bike race.
Starting at 8000 feet of elevation the course runs over 3 mountain passes ending in Avon resulting in 10,000 feet of climb and 120 miles of cycling. It is freaking tough, but so so so worth it. People in the west are getting fatter and fatter everyday. Whilst billions of dollars are spent researching the space, very few look at the actual root cause.
Over and over again people cite Calories in Calories out, but fundamentally CICO is a resulting observation and not an actual cause. The question is this - what CAUSES people to spontaneously overeat for years on end. It wasn’t an issue for a millennia up until the past 100 years. This past week I spent a significant amount of time with my parents, during which I observed several dietary choices i simply could not understand.
My mother, who makes most food purchases and has had a successful career (successful enough to afford the best quality foods), repeatedly bought what I believe is totally crappy food for herself and her family. The first of these was several types of pepperidge farms cookies. |
